VALUE02

Through reverse engineering, we can create a duplicate of any product to identical precision without a diagram.

As a die manufacturer, we were early to introduce reverse engineering. We can create a duplicate of identical precision with just the product alone, and there is no need for a diagram or specifications. Also, we can produce diagram data using a product in cases where the diagrams or specification documents for the product have been lost due to reasons such as natural disasters like typhoons or heavy rains.

VALUE03

Welding technology that can recycle dies with abrasion and chipping.

In most cases, dies that have abrasion or chipping are often discarded, and a new die is fabricated. At Nagoya Tokushuko, we incorporate welding technology that makes it possible to recycle dies in such conditions. Also, we can further extend the useful life span of products by using special welding materials (welding materials made by Caterpillar of Germany).

VALUE04

We perform scientific investigations and analyses on the composition and condition of materials and dies.

We conduct analyses on materials and investigations and analyses on the composition and condition of materials and dies, and we incorporate the results into our processing technology. We also thoroughly conduct analyses of the condition of heat treatments and surface treatments, tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and other key characteristics.
Also, by making use of the results of such analyses in combination with our welding technology, we further extend the useful life span of the models we fabricate.

VALUE05

In addition to our domestic network, we have a network of overseas group companies. We have the ability to respond to global needs.

We have subsidiary companies and sales offices located throughout Japan which form our independent network and enable us to respond to customers anywhere in the country. Furthermore, we have production sites located overseas in order to respond to demand from outside the country. We are further reinforcing our system that makes it possible to deal with imports and exports and conduct the local procurement of products. With this group network, we can quickly respond to global needs.

MATERIALS

Craftsmanship begins with
materials selection.

When considering the method of production, we consider the purpose and specifications, processing conditions, and finishing precision, and in addition we listen to our customers regarding their specific issues and concerns. This allows us to quickly supply the optimum materials. What makes this possible is the know-how we have built across half a century as a special steel trading company and our solid network with suppliers.

DIE DESIGN & MANUFACTURE

Providing high precision, high
quality craftsmanship together
with accelerated delivery times
through consistent support from
product development to production.

In addition to designing stand-alone dies, we also work with customers throughout the whole product development process from product design and manufacturing analysis to process design and trial pressing. Our deep understanding of materials and consistent support from product development to production makes accelerated delivery times possible. Also, we have a machining environment with environmentally controlled rooms management that makes possible accuracy at ±1/1000 mm. This enables us to deliver high-precision, high-value-added content dies with stable quality.

Product design

Product design with 3-D
CAD/CAM

For a forged piece, for example, we use customer-supplied design drawings to develop an efficient design with machining allowances that can be removed in a later process.

Forming analysis

Forming analysis (fabrication and forming simulation)

A virtual press provides a software simulation of pressing, making it possible to analyze die shape and pressing parameters and fulfill product requirements. Simulations are possible for the motion of crankshafts, helical gears, and bevel gears, as well as for gear tooth mesh dynamics.

Die design

Die design based on analysis results

Analysis results are used to optimize die design. The forming simulation, along with the analysis results for temperature and pressure on the die, make it possible to select the optimal die materials.

Die fabrication

Die fabrication that can deliver high-precision, high-value-added content dies with stable quality

Our machine tools, developed in collaboration with a machine tool manufacturer, incorporate proven expertise and unique functions in a machining environment with round-the-clock temperature management. We deliver high-precision, high-value-added content dies with stable quality and outstanding cost performance.

Prototyping and trial pressing

5-axis machine for R&D and trial pressings

This 5-axis press, developed with a forging machinery manufacturer as the first machine of its type in the industry, is used for trial pressings with cold-forging dies. It helps develop the ideal fabrication system with lower cost and environmental impact, including flashless closed-die forging, powder forming, single-shot pressing, and more. Parameter data acquired in trial pressings can be used in volume production to further reduce your lead time.

Reverse engineering with the digitizer

We can create a duplicate of any product to
identical precision without a diagram.

As a die manufacturer, we were early to introduce reverse engineering.
Through this process, we can create a duplicate of any product at an identical level of precision
with only the actual item, even with dies and tools for which there are no longer any diagrams.

Fabrication flowchart

Measurement of the die > Die design > Die fabrication > Measurement

As a die manufacturer, Nagoya Tokushuko was early to introduce reverse engineering in 2007. We measure the shape of a die with a three-dimensional measurement system called a digitizer, and then use the three-dimensional data obtained to create a 3-D CAD model. With this technology, we can create a duplicate of any product at an identical level of precision with only the actual item, even with dies and tools for which there are no longer any diagrams. Also, we can use the digitizer to scan dies for which repairs and minute adjustments have been made by manual labor or other such processes, and thereby create and save digital data on the die’s final form. This greatly reduces the workload for corrections and trial pressing when the die is reproduced in the future.

Working to reproduce and recycle dies by welding

We make the reproduction and recycling of dies
with abrasion and chipping a reality.

It is possible to reproduce and recycle broken dies
by repairing them through the use of our welding technology.

Fabrication flowchart

Welding > Fabrication > Measurement and evaluation

Nagoya Tokushuko has established our own proprietary welding technology, and using it allows us to repair worn out dies.
Also, our company makes practical use of the scientific knowledge of Meitoku Labo in our proactive efforts to further sophisticate our welding technology.
Conventional die repair using welding is a process which is greatly impacted by the skill level of the person conducting the welding. Meitoku Labo aims to create a system in which high quality is guaranteed regardless of the experience of an individual, accumulating scientific knowledge in ways such as by searching for the crystal grain (crystal structure) of the broken part of a die through welding.
